Sculptural Work
Sculpture gives me the opportunity to explore ideas to their fullest extent. I enjoy working with any type of material, although I tend to involve wood in the majority of my sculptures. Each piece is unique and I don't have just one style of approach. I like to invesigate new processes and techniques to further my material vocabulary.
Painting
My painted works are an exploration into narration, depth and perspective as well as color theory. I aim to create lasting images that speak of simple feelings, fleeting moments and epic scenes.
Drawings
Drawings can encompass many materials and is often overlooked as a simple process. Drawing for myself includes many experiments into material and medium including marker, ink, pastel, and graphite. I have found a fascination with stylized portraits and have enjoyed the process of pushing my own value and 3D rendering skills further.
Jewelry and Metalsmithing
Creating wearable art and learning the basics of metalsmithing has brought new opportunities and creative experiences to my artistic career. Being able to cut into and connect metal in an intricate and meaningful way while exploring skills and techniques has helped to round out my artistic mindset.
Fiber Arts
Textile art is a newer endeavor for myself as an artist. Often overlooked as a craft and not art in the classical sense due to it’s practicality and it’s focus on women creators, I have found immense enjoyment from learning this skills and have a renewed sense of awe for the artists who have mastered these materials.
Material Studies and Practice
This space is a place where exploration and creativity rule the focus. While the examples here are not curated pieces of art, they are stark reminders of the curiosity that drives my artistic vision and increases my bag of tricks as an artist.
